Where evidence-based practice meets ethical integrity and real human connection

About Nourished Minds Counseling & Consulting

Nourished Minds Counseling & Consulting (NMCC) is the foundation and clinical heart of my work—a licensed therapy and consulting practice grounded in ethical care, embodied insight, and trauma-informed service. Through NMCC, I offer traditional counseling services, clinical supervision, and therapeutic consulting.

The Safety to Speak™ was born as an extension of this mission—an educational sub-brand that invites broader conversations beyond the therapy room. While NMCC holds the legal and clinical container, The Safety to Speak™ lives under its canopy, offering tools, reflections, and community education rooted in the same values of truth-telling, nervous system literacy, and generational healing.

The Safety to Practice™ Collective exists as the clinical extension of this work—a professional space designed to support both licensed clinicians and those pursuing licensure. For clinicians living in the state where I am approved to provide clinical supervision (Alabama) The Safety to Practice™ offers a grounded, ethical container for licensure hours, case consultation, and professional development rooted in evidence-based practice and nervous system literacy. For clinicians outside those states, The Safety to Practice functions as an educational and consultative community, offering advanced clinical discussions, reflective practice, skill-building, and nervous-system-informed mentorship to support their ongoing growth. The Safety to Practice provides the professional learning environment where clinicians can refine their craft, deepen their self-trust, and strengthen the integrity of their clinical voice.

The Heart Behind The Safety To Speak™

My name is Savannah Kizzie- Rai. I’m a Licensed Professional Counselor in Texas and Alabama soon California with over six years of clinical experience and more than a decade working with people across all walks of life. From early childhood education to trauma therapy, I’ve always found myself in roles centered around healing and connection. My approach is integrative, grounded, and human. I blend CBT, somatic awareness, mindfulness, and psychoeducation to help clients not only feel better—but understand themselves and build lifelong tools. My style is direct, solution-focused, and deeply compassionate. I don’t sugarcoat, but I do hold space with car and I will challenge you.

Clients often tell me they feel like they’re talking to a trusted friend. I take that as the highest compliment. I believe the therapeutic relationship is built human-to-human—because safety is the foundation for all transformation.

I specialize in complex trauma, nervous system healing, family dynamics, and relational repair. I work with military members, first responders, caregivers, and everyday people carrying invisible weight.

Ages Served: 14+

Currently not accepting clients under age 14 due to the virtual format of services. This may change once in-person sessions resume.

Court Involvement Disclaimer:
If I am subpoenaed or requested to participate in any legal proceedings (including depositions, testimony, or preparation of legal documents), a minimum non-refundable retainer of $2,500 is required. This fee compensates for time spent canceling client sessions, reviewing case materials, preparing documentation, and appearing in court. Additional time beyond the initial retainer will be billed at my standard hourly legal rate.

Please note: I do not provide custody recommendations or evaluations. Subpoenas must be addressed to my legal representation.
